What Ps Philip did that I found really helpful was to create a space where I felt I was understood. He paid attention to my ideas, asked probing questions for the purpose of a collective understanding of these ideas. Then, he went back and developed these ideas in more detail; and offered a blueprint through which the concepts can be translated operationally for the different ministries. Furthermore, he was also able to offer guidance on how to take this blueprint and implement this with people.

Ps Philip’s involvement was both timely and a vital part of developing vision clarity and the necessary structure for which ministries could work together towards the common vision.

Ps Philip respects the specific vision given to this house because of his varied experience in working with different churches. Moreover, he enables the vision by bringing together both resources and knowledge of how organisations work. In this way, he supports the development of the vision instead of imposing his own version of church to us. The outcome of this is he is able to sing the same tune that I’m singing [vision of the church] but in a different key; a key that people who do the work of the ministry, need.
