The call to leadership invariably involves sacrifice and disappointment. It is easy to become numb and go through the motions, or strive. But God desires for us to learn to soar: “… but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles …” (Isaiah 40:31a) Through teaching, personal reflection, meaningful activity and group sharing, the retreat revolves around drawing close to God to be healed and strengthened for the journey of leadership.

What can help us tease apart the many things that clutter our hearts and minds, to sense God’s work in our lives and experience renewal and deepening?

Journaling is a powerful spiritual discipline that can build faith through bringing clarity and courage about one’s life. Whether you prefer a note on your phone or a good old notebook, journaling helps with selfdiscovery, hearing God, and growing deeper in personal growth, posturing us for spiritual transformation!

Journaling for Spiritual Transformation by Jenni Ho-Huan is an experiential session that teaches how our lives are transformed as we discover truth and encounter God in solitude. This allows us to live with greater assurance and conviction, as we lead our lives with multiple roles and responsibilities

Besides a personal encounter with God, there will be a time to practice with an option for group sharing. Come alone or as a cell group.

    • Perspectives: What you see shapes your attitudes, mind and heart
    • Performance: Having credibility by having a standard in what you say or do

As we experience transitions, it’s easy to get tired and withdraw from living life to the fullest. But the Bible tells us that God journeys with us through our transitions, and sometimes we need to focus on what He is doing instead of getting stuck in our past. Through Israel’s moving from Egypt to wilderness, from Jerusalem to exile, God walked with them through intense change, preparing them for His plans and purpose. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? (Isaiah 43:19a) Can you see the hope and purpose of your transition?
