Knowing when to coach and when to mentor there will come a time in our Christian walk when we are faced with a specific situation, task or responsibility, that apart from character, calls for practical direction and steps in order to breakthrough for God’s purposes. Through this track, using the acronym I.D.E.A, we will look to scripture for a process to coach in the skills aspect of discipleship, to become a skillful coach in drawing out abilities, and helping people grow in Christ in relevant and practical ways.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Study what the bible says about coaching
  • Learn a process to coach in the skills aspect of discipleship


Course Commitment: 1.52h per session for 2 session

Track Description:

From ankle deep, to knee deep, to waist deep. You have been preaching for a while now but will you take on the challenge to go deeper with Christ, and preach the word in ways that will deeply impact the hearers? Through a teaching cum workshop approach, this track seeks to help preachers examine deeper issues of sermon craft and stay fresh in their preaching.


Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn when to use logic vs suspense
  • Explore Exposition vs Devotional vs Seekersensitive vs Evangelistic sermons
  • Master advanced responsiveness on stage


Course Commitment: 23 hours Module. 2 hours of practicum


Suitable For: Preachers with 12 years consistent experience

Description:

“Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honour, especially those who labour in preaching and teaching.” (1 Tim 5:17)

The preaching and teaching gift is developed from small group word settings, to ministry devotional settings, to pulpit settings. Investing in a few who will labour and grow these skills will go a long way in improving the quality of learning, establishing a church that is rooted in and guided by God’s word.
