Track Description:

What happens when a pastor steps down? Succession planning is the process of positioning new pastoral leaders to step in, and as its name suggests, takes a season of planning and preparation. Unlike employing external pastors, succession planning is intentional about growing potential pastoral leaders that God has given your church and journeying with them towards being effective pastors that are a good fit.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the levels of pastoral positions in succession planning
  • Develop the ability to nurture and coach potentials at a specific level in their skill and inner life
  • Learn to ascertain experience and inner life formation when interviewing candidates


Course Commitment: 2hrs per Module, 2-4 Modules based upon levels of development


Suitable For: Board/Council, Senior Pastoral Team, Leadership Development Taskforce

The Crucial Role of Board Leadership for Church Health

Track Description:

“We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.” (Acts 6:3b4) The apostles recognised that they should remain faithful to their central calling, and were wise in delegating administrative responsibilities. Through this track, elders will understand the crucial role they play, as Christ exercises his headship through spiritually mature leaders.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn to manage the decisionmaking process between various stakeholders
  • Understand the discipleship process
  • Develop skills to mentor and groom potential board leaders
  • Learn to integrate church authority with the laws of the land


Course Commitment: 23hrs per Module, 46 Modules


Suitable For: Senior Pastors, Church Board / Council members
